<p>PURPOSE: To enable slice or hook hitting to be easily corrected by dividing a surface of a sphere into plural element-planes on which dimples are placed as to form a prescribed pattern for the position of a golf ball to reappear easily and accurately. CONSTITUTION: Equatorial lines 92 to 103 are to be crossing ridge lines of the surface of a sphere 1 and twelve pieces of planes orthogonal to line segments 80 to 91. These lines are made connect midpoints of those pairs of the symmetric points among midpoints 41 to 64 symmetrized with respect to the center 79 of the sphere as the point symmetry. The midpoints 41 to 64 are of those ridgelines 17 to 40 made connecting each apex 5 to 16 of a compound polyhedron 4 formed by compounding a hexahedron and an octahedron inscribing to the sphere 1 and having their centers coincided with the center 79 of the sphere. Also, element-planes 104 to 231, made by dividing the surface into plural shapes, are composed of six pieces of element-planes 104 having uniform shape of right octagon, forty eight pieces of element-planes 105 shaped as a uniform triangle having an obtuse angle 130 and element-planes 106, 231 and 115 having kite shaped tetragons. Dimples 123 to 139, composing prescribed patterns, are placed on the respective element-plane 104 to 231.</p> |
