PURPOSE:To make the going in and out of Li ion by charge and discharge and improve cycle life characteristics by using a specified composite compound as a positive electrode, and forming a battery of this positive electrode, a negative electrode containing Li, and an organic electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A composite oxide shown by Li, Mn, Cr2-yO2 (O<=x<=1.5, 0.5<=y<=1.99, 3<=z<=4.75) is used as a positive electrode, and a battery is formed of this positive electrode, a negative electrode containing Li, and an organic electrolyte. The compost oxide is obtained by mixing each proper mole of a lithium hydroxide or carbonic compound such as LiOH and Li2CO3 as a starting material forming a positive electrode active material, a manganese oxide such as MnO2 and Mn2O3, and a chromium oxide such as CrO3 and Cr2O3, and heating the mixture at a high temperature in the atmosphere. Hence, a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having less deterioration of discharge capacity accompanied by the movement of lithium ion and excellent cycle life characteristics can be obtained. |
