PURPOSE:To exactly search a border line of an object to be inspected by executing a decision by referring to the sum total of differential absolute values extracted from a differential image based on an edge existence check of each line of a necessary parallel window. CONSTITUTION:Image pickup image data of an object to be inspected X by a TV camera 1 is brought to A/D conversion, etc., and stored in an original image memory 4. From this stored contents, a differential absolute value, a differential direction value, an edge, etc., are calculated through a microprocessor 8 and stored in the corresponding image memories 5-7, respectively. Subsequently, from the contents of the memory 7, an arbitrary search start point and a search line are determined and setting of a local parallel window by a matrix picture element in which a point in which an edge flag exists is the center of an inspection object point, processings of existence of each edge flag in the window, and a sum total operation of a differential absolute value exceeding a threshold extracted from the store contents of the memory 5 corresponding to the edge flag, etc., and a decision by whether the value is larger than this sum total threshold or not are executed through the processor 8, and a border line of the object to be inspected X is searched exactly. |
