PURPOSE:To accurately detect a contact state with an organism by applying a reference signal to the organism, detecting this reference signal by an electrode, and inspecting the organism signal detecting state of the electrode. CONSTITUTION:A method for measuring a cardiac potential applies the reference signal between a human organism and an earth. The reference signal and the cardiac potential are detected by the electrode. While the reference signal is amplified in a reference signal amplifier 2, the cardiac potential is amplified in a cardiac potential amplifier 3. The reference signal amplifier 2 is equipped with a differential amplifier 26 to measure the potential between the earth and the human organism at its input side. The cardiac potential for the specific point of the human organism is inputted to the cardiac potential amplifier 3. The reference signal detected by an electrode 4 is inputted to the reference signal amplifier 2, this signal is amplified in the reference signal amplifier 2, and the contact state of the electrode 4 is inspected. For the reference signal, for example, an alternating signal such as a sine wave or a rectangular wave is used in order to remove the influence of an error caused by the contact potential between the electrode 4 and a body surface 13. |
