<p>PURPOSE:To improve the intake and exhaust efficiency by opening and closing each rotary valve arranged in the intake and exhaust passages for a prescribed time and allowing each rotary valve to stop its movement in a prescribed division in the valve opening and closing time, thus increasing the opened area in the case when the valve is opened. CONSTITUTION:When a crank shaft 2 turns clockwise, a main shaft 31 turns clockwise. Then, a driving wheel 35 turns, and the valve piece 13 of a rotary valve 10 for intake turns counterclockwise by 90 deg. during the time when the valve opening pin 33a is engaged with the groove 35a of a driven wheel 35, and drawn off, and the valve is perfectly opened. While, the valve piece 23 of a rotary valve 20 for exhaust turns counterclockwise by 90 deg. during the time when the pin 33d for closing valve is engaged with the groove 37b of a driven wheel 37 and drawn off, and the valve is perfectly closed. At this time, the rotary valve 10 stops in the perfectly opened state until the pin 33b for closing valve of the driving wheel 33 is engaged with the groove 35b of the driven wheel 35. Therefore, the intake efficiency can be improved markedly.</p> |
