A compact, modular printed circuit board unit, consisting of a front panel, guide parts, cover parts and a large number of printed circuit boards which extend at right angles to the front panel and are fitted with electronic components, each of the printed circuit boards of the unit being provided with longitudinal pin socket connectors which are arranged such that they are aligned with one another, the longitudinal pins (which are guided through the printed circuit boards) of one longitudinal pin socket strip engaging in the springs of the longitudinal pin socket strip of the printed circuit boards which are arranged adjacent to it.
