In a blanket washing device for an offset printing machine, having a swivel frame (6) which is received pivotably on a support structure (5) which can be fixed in the printing machine, and which is provided with a wiping cloth (9) which can be unwound from a supply roll (10), wound onto a storage roll (11) and is guided over a pressing-on element (12), which wiping cloth can be wetted by means of a wetting device (20) in the region between the supply roll (10) and the pressing-on element (12) and can be brought into and out of engagement with the rubber-covered cylinder (2) to be cleaned, preferably by swivelling the swivel frame (6) with the region guided over the pressing-on element (12), a high reliability and gentle mode of operation are achieved in that the pressing-on element (12) is designed as a spring band which is arranged transversely to the cloth running direction and is curved in opposition to the curvature of the rubber-covered cylinder (2). <IMAGE>
