<p>A brush holder for an electrical commutator machine has a brush plate (10) inside the casing of the machine and at least two brush attachments (11) secured on the brush plate (10) by a rivet (14), each of which can take one of the carbon brushes bearing on the commutator. An insulating plate (18) is arranged between the brush plate (10) and the brush attachment (11) and, on the opposite side, an insulating component (19) is arranged between the brush plate (10) and the rivet head (14b) to provide insulation between the components. The insulating component (19) bears an annular stem (25) surrounding a recess (23) and, fitting closely, passes through a corresponding aperture (17) in the brush plate (10) and a recess (21) in the insulating plate (18). The annular stem (25) surrounds a traction pin (12) in front of the brush attachment (11). The close fit of the annular stem (25) and the traction pin (12) on the one hand and of the annular stem (25) and the recess (21) in the insulating plate (18) and the aperture (17) in the brush plate (10) on the other ensures that the insulating component (19) secures the brush attachment (11) against rotation on the brush plate (10) as well as providing insulation.</p> |
