PURPOSE:To facilitate determining the cause of failure as well as performing maintenance by identifying and warning the failure of the burner or the ultraviolet ray sensing tube of a combustion apparatus whose combustion is to be controlled by monitoring the flame by means of an ultraviolet ray sensing tube. CONSTITUTION:The combustion control means 9 and the shutter actuating circuit 10 are controlled by the flame sensing signal from an ultraviolet ray sensing tube 2. When the shutter 4 is opened, the flame sensing signal causes the shutter actuating circuit 10 to close the shutter 4. As the flame sensing signal is lost as a result, the shutter 4 is again opened, and the shutter operation is repeated at regular intervals. When no flame is detected because of a failure of the burner 1, the shutter 4 remains opened, and the shutter opening time measuring section 14 causes a warning determination section 15 to give out a warning output 16. When there is a failure in the ultraviolet ray sensor 2, the shutter 4 conversely remains closed, and a warning determination section 12 gives out a warning output 13. |
