Adaptation and transition rings for spigots of plug-in sockets K or the like on stoneware or similar socket pipes exhibit, even when they are in the non-mounted state, a hollow channel (8) in which a radially adjustable bracing band (9) is arranged in a virtually captive manner. A cutout or opening (12) located on the hollow channel (8) provides the possibility of actuating the bracing band (9), in the event of preliminary mounting of the adaptation ring or transition ring (1), for the purpose of accommodating it fixedly, and of then securing it in this position.
