1,162,911. Optical condensers. CARL ZEISS JENA VEB. June 9, 1967, No. 26658/ 67. Heading G2J. An aplanatically corrected condenser 7 comprises at least two members 7', 7", two adjacent surfaces r6, r7, of the members being aspherical and being so shaped as to provide aplanacy over the entire cross-sectional area of the aperture beam. As shown, an auxiliary member 4 is placed in front of the condenser 7 and member 7' is a cemented doublet to provide achromacy. The arrangement for a transmitted light microscope is such that a source (1), Fig. 1 (not shown) is imaged by a collector (2) in the aperture diaphragm 5 while condenser 7 images this at infinity. Members 4 and 7 image the bright-field diaphragm (3) aplanatically and achromatically in the object plane containing microscope slide 8. Optical data are provided for the example shown. |
