PURPOSE:To produce an electrically conductive material small in change in dimension at a time for sintering by heating a molded form incorporating powder of metals of group III-VIII of the periodic table in the gaseous atmosphere contg. nitrogen. CONSTITUTION:About 8-15pts.wt. binder (polyvinyl butyral, etc.,) consisting of thermoplastic resin is added to the powder of at least one kind of metal belonging to group III-VIII of the periodic table such as Ti, Zr, V, Nb, Cr, Ce, Co, Mn, W, Mo, Fe and Th and the mixture is heated and mixed. Then a molded form having >=60vol.% packing rate of powdery particle is formed by warm pressure forming and temp. is gradually raised at about 2 deg.C/hr temp. rise velocity from room temp. to about 500 deg.C to remove the binder. Then it is heated at about 1,100-1,350 deg.C with about 4 deg.C/hr temp. rise velocity in the gaseous nitriding atmosphere such as nitrogen and/or ammonia and sintered to produce a reaction sintered body having conductive nitride and about <=30% porosity. Thereby a conductive material which is small in degree of change in dimension at a time for sintering and high in mechanical strength and electrical conductivity and consists of the reaction sintered body is obtained. |
