<p>PURPOSE:To enable a car body to be assembled by carrying into an assembly station all the two or more workpieces, constituting a car body principal part, by a single conveying means and using a workpiece positioning device taking up the workpiece thereafter positioning it. CONSTITUTION:Right and left body side panels 8, air box 9, roof panel 10, shelf panel 11 and a rear panel 12 are mounted to a shuttle finger 14, provided in the bottom of a hanger 13 of a shuttle bar 4, and carried into a mounting station 2. An assembly station 3 provides a workpiece positioning device 19, two or more sets of welding robots 20 having each spot welding gun 20a and a mounting bed 21 holding a floor panel 5. Workpieces are carried into the assembly station 3 collectively by the shuttle bar 4, because these workpieces are picked up by using the workpiece positioning device 19 thereafter positioned, a conveying means can be simplified.</p> |
