发明名称 DETECTING ELEMENT STRUCTURE FOR OPTICAL FIBER
摘要 PURPOSE:To easily adjust the length of a holding sleeve at an optical fiber installing site by putting the holding sleeve which is constituted of a hard plastic cylindrical body and has bellows-like grooves on its outer or inner peripheral surface on the detecting element of the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:Bellows-like grooves 8 are formed on the outer peripheral surface of a holding sleeve 7 made of a hard heat-resisting plastic material and the leading end section of a plastic optical fiber 9, from which a protective coating 10 is removed, is inserted into the holding sleeve 7 through a fitting base body 5. The detecting element structure 4 of the optical fiber 9 is fixed to its fitting position when the base body 5 is fitted to a fitting bracket with screws and the sleeve 7 is cut off together with the optical fiber 9 at an optical point in accordance with the distance to a detecting position. Therefore, the holding sleeve 7 can be adjusted easily in length at the time of installing the optical fiber 9.
