PURPOSE:To prevent an unsatisfactory running of an ink ribbon and an occurrence of scumming on a recording paper to obtain a good printing quality, by forming a guide roller in a hourglass form. CONSTITUTION:A hourglass-shaped guide roller in use having, for example, a width W1 of 6.40mm, a center part diameter D1 of 3.00mm, and an end part diameter D2 of 5.00mm is only 0.05mm larger in width than an ink ribbon 2 of 6.35mm width. The guide roller 1 shaped in such a hourglass form enables the running path of the ink ribbon 2 to be extended in width, thus preventing the possibility that the ink ribbon 2 in running is disengaged from the end part of the guide roller 1 and jammed between the guide roller and a cartridge case 5 to induce an unsatisfactory running. Furthermore, a tension is constantly applied to the center of the ink ribbon in the take-up of the ink ribbon, thus ensuring the stable running of the ink ribbon without snaking. |
