A plastic sliding link (5) is connected to the stroke rod (1) of a jigsaw. The sliding link (5) has sliding surfaces (11) which interact with guide surfaces (10) of the housing lid (9). Anti-torsion guidance of the stroke rod (1) and thus of the jigsaw blade (4) is thus guaranteed, a damping action in the face of hard impact stresses is obtained, and in the event of a fracture in the area of the sliding link (5) damage to further parts of the jigsaw is reliably avoided. <IMAGE>
