The present invention relates to a straight slide with manual control especially designed to be applied to the seats of motor vehicles. It consists of an upper section 1 which moves with respect to a section 2 by means of interposed balls 3. The balls 3 prevent any metal/metal contact and simultaneously withstand all the forces exerted in all directions on the device. It is controlled by a manual locking system which meshes in toothing of the lower section. <IMAGE>
