<p>PURPOSE:To improve adsorption efficiencies and purity of product gases by providing a channeling prevention layer comprising a plurality of superposed layers packed with packings having different mean grain diameters on the upstream side of an adsorbent layer. CONSTITUTION:There are provided in an adsorption column 1 a channeling prevention layer 3 for gas flow on the upstream side and an adsorbent layer 4 comprising silica gel, active carbon, etc. on the downstream in the column 1. Said layer 3 comprises a plurality of superposed layers packed with packings having different mean grain diameters, wherein gases are caused to flow substantially uniformly over the cross section thereof, so that the channeling the flow is prevented, leading to a uniform contact between the adsorbents and the gases to be adsorbed, and resulting in improved adsorption efficiencies and purity of product gases.</p> |
