PURPOSE:To drive a car surely at all times by indicating the rest distance to a next intersection where the car ought to turn in different output modes corresponding to the rest distance as the car approaches the intersection. CONSTITUTION:When a course is set selectively through an input part 13 before traveling, a data control part 16 reads navigation data out of files 21-24 corresponding to the course and performs processing. The navigation data is used to find the position of the car from pieces of measurement information from a trip meter 11 and a steering angle meter 12 according to the course, thereby displaying the guide map of the course, the current position, etc., through a display part 18 and a speaker 20. Then as the car approaches the intersection where the car ought to turn, a character color is set according to the distance to the intersection to enable the driver to recognize the distance by sensation from the character color. Thus, the driver drives the car surely at all times. |
