The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for producing preferably thin films and layers from dispersions, used predominantly in the ceramics industry. In this case, the apparatus comprises an endless rotating solid pouring base, such as for example a pane of float glass, and has a moulding region, in which various principles of action are realised individually or in combination during multilayer coating, a drying section and a removal point for the films able to be handled. The solution according to the invention permits the continuous production of films and layers with high dimensional accuracy of their thicknesses and high surface quality. <IMAGE>
