PURPOSE:To obtain a detector which is usable under severe conditions by running a cord through a hollow support which supports a sensor head. CONSTITUTION:The support 1 consists of an L-shaped hollow pipe, the ultrasonic wave type sensor head 3, for example, is fitted to its tip part by using a proper metallic fixture, and the cord 4 for signal transmission extending from the head 3 is inserted into the support 1 and protected from wind, rain, etc. The cord 4 is connected to a control circuit and the head 3 is fitted normally on a roof so as to sense the snowfall state on the roof surface. consequently, the sensor head and control circuit can be connected mutually by a general inexpensive cord without using an expensive cord which has weatherability and is strong enough against a snow slide on the roof, so the weatherability of the general cord is improved.
