PURPOSE:To locally heat only a deep or surface part in accordance with the affected part being an object to be treated, by controlling the frequency and phase relation of the high frequency power applied to two induction heating applicators arranged so as to hold a body to be heated therebetween in opposed relationship in accordance with the distance between both applicators and the position of a patient. CONSTITUTION:For example, when the distance L between applicators 31, 32 is about 7.5cm, it is supposed that a wavelength of 7.7cm is set corresponding thereto. When the high frequency powers supplied to the applicators 31, 32 are set to the same phase and the power distribution the center axis connecting the applicators 31, 32 is measured, said power distribution becomes the one shown by a solid line A and an intensive part of power is generated at the central part of a body 1 to be heated and this system is suitable for the local heating of the central part. The phase of the high frequency power supplied to the applicator 31 in such a state than the same distance L and frequency as mentioned above are set is shifted by 180 deg. with respect to that supplied to the applicator 32 by a phase control apparatus 8 to be brought to inverse phase relation and, when power distribution is measured in he same way, said distribution becomes the one shown by a dotted line B and this system is suitable for the simultaneous heating of the parts in the vicinity of the body surface of the body 1 to be heated on both sides thereof.
