PURPOSE:To obtain a directional coupler without any inter-line interference in high frequencies with small size in the close coupling state by forming two coupling conductors to both sides of a ground conductor via a dielectric base and providing a missing part to a ground conductor for the coupling between the coupling conductors. CONSTITUTION:Connector conductors 10a, 10b connected to strip conductors 6, 7 and 8, 9 are formed to both faces of a ground conductor 2 via dielectric bases 1a, 1b. A coupling hole 11 is provided to the ground conductor 2 between the conductors 10a, 10b to pack a coupling dielectric 1c. Thus, the mode coupling of dense coupling is caused between signals of the conductors 10a, 10b and signals of microstrip lines 6, 7 and 8,9 are coupled via the directional coupler. Thus, the directional coupler is a miniaturized close coupling coupler and the strip lines 6, 7 and 8, 9 are shielded completely by the conductor 2 except the coupling hole 11. Thus, no signal interference is caused.
