PURPOSE:To make possible protection of crack failure and reduction of abrasion in the external layer material of a plug shown when a core material and an external layer material are separated by pouring molten metal and/or introducing high-alloy-element contg. iron dust as electroslug welding is carried out in a casting mold. CONSTITUTION:A core material 10 of pipe or round steel of material rich in toughness is set vertically, and a water-cooled mold 10 is arranged around thereto. A welding wire 15 is supplied from a welding nozzle 16 to impress electric voltage, flux put in the water-cooled mold 13 is melted to make molten slug 12 and by that molten slug 12 is melted the surface of the core material 10 of pipe of round steel which is set vertically. If the surface of the core material 10 begins to melt, the molten metal 11 which has been made in another melting furnace is poured at a constant speed or continuously or intermittently between a water-cooled mold 13 and the core material 10 to produce a composite plug. As a result, Joule heat high in quantity of heat is generated in the molten slug 12, the surface of the core material 10 is melted fully and welding with an external layer material 9 is made perfect. |
