PURPOSE:To attain unmanned management service by storing the information of a flexible disk cartridge in a flexible disk data file and a flexible disk management file on a magnetic disk, and managing the information. CONSTITUTION:In case of storing the information of a flexible disk cartridge 1 in a magnetic disk 2, the respective information in a flexible disk data file 3 and a flexible disk management file 4 are updated. In case of reproducing the original information onto the cartridge 1 from the magnetic disk 2, the presence of a corresponding data is confirmed by referring to the management file 4, thereafter, the corresponding data is written on the cartridge 1 from the data file 3. As a result, the management service can be automized.
