摘要 PURPOSE:To improve controlling stability by controlling the phase of the ground camber of the rear wheel at least on the outside when a vehicle is making a turn at the time of steering rear wheels and positively utilizing a camber thrust which is generated particularly by the rear wheel on the outside at the time of making a turn. CONSTITUTION:In a four-wheel drive vehicle, front wheels 2 are steered by the operation of a handle 1 through tie rods 5 and a suspension devices 4 while rear wheels 6 are steered through a linkage shaft 10, tie rods 9, and suspension devices 8. In this case, a camber variable device 11 which is operated by, e.g., a motor-driven actuator 21 is provided on each of the suspension devices 8 of the right and left rear wheels 6. And, the actuators 21 are controlled so as to carry out the control of the phase of the ground camber of the rear wheel on the outside at the time of making a turn while carrying out the control of the ground camber of the rear wheel on the inside at the time of making a turn to be followingly in the same direction, by an ECU which receives the output signals of a vehicle speed detector 91 and a detector 92 for detecting a steering direction, steering angle, and steering speed, etc., of a front wheel.
