PURPOSE:To efficiently remove a liquid attached to a yarn, by providing a constricted member of a special structure in a yarn outlet of a liquid bath for introducing a melt extruded yarn, cooling and solidifying the yarn. CONSTITUTION:A constricted member 4 having a gas inflow port 25, a gas discharge port 30 and a gas passage 28, communicating with both and crossing a yarn passage is provided in a yarn outlet of a cooling liquid bath 2. A sleeve 19 having a slender slit 20 of about the same thickness as that of a yarn is preferably provided between a gas inflow port 26 and the gas passage 28.
