The field of the invention is that of lightning arresters. The purpose of the invention is to produce a three-pole lightning arrester whose structural and functional characteristics are the same for all electrode pairs. This purpose is achieved with a lightning arrester including an annular central electrode 1 whose inside face 4 has a V-shaped section; two cylindrical enclosures 2 placed either side of the midplane of the central electrode 1; and two lateral electrodes 3, arranged on either side of the cylindrical enclosures 2, and having a frustoconical inside part 5.
