TREATMENT OF PHOSPHOR-CONTAINING WASTE WATER

PURPOSE:To reduce running cost by treating phosphor-containing waste water with activated sludge containing aerobic microbes and removing activated sludge and phosphoric acid from the treated water after microbial treatment. CONSTITUTION:Phosphor-containing waste water is supplied to an aeration tank 2 and subjected to an aerobic microbial treatment using activated sludge. The treated water 3 after microbial treatment is supplied under pressure to an ultrafilter 4 to obtain a filtered water. Then the treated water containing a high-concentration activated sludge is returned to the aeration tank 2 through a reflux path 5. The filtered water is supplied to an adsorption tower 7 and a hydrated product of zirconium oxide is permitted to contact on ion phosphate adsorbent ionized with an acid solution of hydrochloric acid to adsorb and remove phosphoric acid in the filtered water. Also lime slurry is supplied to a mixing reaction tank 11 from a tank 13 to produce calcium phosphate (C). Thus phosphor is removed efficiently.
