A device for measuring and setting the exposure in a reflex camera which consists of a lens, a swing-out mirror (wing mirror, hinged mirror), and a viewfinder having a focusing screen (ground glass screen), has a light-sensitive device (18) onto which the taken picture is projected by the lens. The output signals of this device are fed to a display screen which is arranged approximately at the position of the conventional viewing screen and viewed through the viewfinder. Furthermore, provision is made for an electric controller for setting the brightness and light amplification respectively and, at the same time and dependent thereupon, for setting the diaphragm (iris) and/or the exposure time. In this way, the exposure can be precisely determined and set for any desired image point. <IMAGE>
