PURPOSE:To transmit picture data to a desired opponent even in receiving the picture data, by transferring the picture data of a data reading means from a local communication line to a subscriber telephone line via another facsimile equipment. CONSTITUTION:When the operation of the transmission of the picture data is performed on an operating panel 19 and the picture data is being received, a local line 22 is selected by a control part 13 via a transmission/reception part 21. And the activity status of the subscriber telephone line of another facsimile equipment is decided. When the subscriber telephone line is available to be used, data to call an opponent and also the picture data from a read scanning part 11 are sent via the subscriber telephone line of another facsimile equipment. In such a way, it is possible to send the picture data to the desired opponent without spending a waiting time, and to remarkably reduce the sending time of an original.
