Optical transmission system

A Data Transmission System comprising an optical fibre having one or more reflective junctions 4 and one or more transducers 10 operatively associated with the fibre. Data enters the system via the transducers which phase modulates a signal from transmitter 8 travelling along the optical fibre and in combination with the reflective functions, data isolation can be achieved. The capacity of the system may be increased by having a plurality of transducers associated with each reflective junction and utilizing T.D.M. or F.D.M. techniques.
