PURPOSE:To minimize a correction error in horizontal, and vertical directions by holding a welding electrode in a dwell state immediately after an arc is generated, stabilizing the arc and starting the weaving, and starting the correction of the vertical deviation, while correcting the horizontal deviation by arc sensing after the arc is stabilized. CONSTITUTION:An arc is stabilized by holding in a dwell state extending from the time T0 when an arc is generated, to a prescribed time T1. Subsequently, weaving is started from the time T1 when an extremely unstable state of the arc is passed. Next, after the time T2 when the arc disturbed by weaving becomes stable to some extent, the detection and the correction of the deviation by arc sensing in the horizontal direction are started. Subsequently, at the time T3 after the deviation in horizontal direction is corrected, the detection and the correction of the deviation in the vertical direction are started.
