PURPOSE:To obtain a membrane, which concentrates an aqueous solution of a volatile org. liquid, having high separation capacity, by coating the surface of a polyvinylidene porous membrane with a ketone resin without closing the surface pore parts thereof. CONSTITUTION:Dried polyvinylidene fluoride hollow yarn membranes are bundled and both ends thereof are potted with an epoxy resin to form a hollow yarn bundle which is, in turn, internally filled and impregnated with a non- solvent of polyvinylidene fluoride showing the compatibility with the solvent of a coating solution, for example, methanol. After excessive methanol is removed by passing nitrogen gas through the hollow yarn bundle, the hollow yarn bundle is filled with the coating solution such as an ethanol solution of an acetophenone type ketone resin modified by hydrogenation and, after letting stand, nitrogen gas is allowed to pass through the hollow yarn bundle to evaporate the solvent. The membrane thus obtained for concentrating an aqueous solution of a volatile org. liquid is inserted in a case to form a membrane module and the concn. of the aqueous solution of the volatile org. liquid of a liquid-liquid system such as an aqueous ethanol solution is performed.
