<p>PURPOSE:To detect the position of an underground embedded article with good accu racy, by a method wherein the position of the echo image of the underground embedded article and the expansion of an opening part having a hyperbolic shape are detected by superposing dummy echo images and the radio propagation speed of soil is calcu lated on the basis of the detection values. CONSTITUTION:Every time a moving truck 1 is moved over a definite distance (at each time when a distance sensor 14 outputs one pulse) while moved in an x-axis direction, a radio wave is emitted from a transmitting antenna 11 through a transmitter 10 and the reflected wave from an embedded article 3 is received by a receiving antenna 13. The receiving signal of said antenna 13 is inputted to an operation appara tus 20 through a receiver 12 to repeat operation performing sampling by receiving intensity plural times and sampling data by receiving intensity are extracted over many points on an x-axis. Then, the sampling data at respective points are converted to the signals of the display colors corresponding to the order of a size on a t-axis and the echo image of a hyperbolic curve is displayed on a display device 21. When the echo image is displayed by this method, a dummy echo image is formed by the apparatus 20 to be displayed on the apparatus 21. By this method, the position of the underground embedded article can be detected with good accuracy.</p> |
