PURPOSE:To soften and remove dust in a sealing box and to make special dust removing work unnecessary by blowing steam into the box from an N2 pipe for purging instead of direct blowing into a furnace during the suspension of operation. CONSTITUTION:Steam is blown into a sealing box provided with a built-in device for swinging an armor plate through a push rod 8 moved forward and backward by the driving of a driving ring 9 from an N2 feeding pipe 7 instead of conventional blowing into a furnace from a steam pipe 15 through a valve 14 and a counter 18. The steam purging is carried out about 1-2 times per month every time operation is suspended. By the steam purge, the accumulation of dust in the box can be perfectly prevented even though N2 purge is stopped and the action of the push rod 8 can be kept normal.
