The heating boiler consists of a water-bearing housing with an interior which conducts the flame and the heating gases and which is surrounded by a tubular insert which extends through the water-bearing housing, the gas-side surface of the insert, which is provided with rib-like transmission surface enlargements extending in the flow direction, being of two-shell design and, in the interior, the reversing combustion chamber being separated by a wall from the heating-gas flues surrounding it. The gas-side, inner shell (2) of the insert (1), which is connected in a heat-conducting manner at least in places to the tubular insert (1), is formed from adjacently arranged Z-shaped, C-shaped or U-shaped profiles which are known per se and the free leg ends (6) of which are angled so as to be directed towards the respectively adjacent profile (3, 4) or in the case of U-profiles towards one another, and are designed as the wall separating the combustion chamber (7) from the heating-gas flues (8). <IMAGE>
