The invention is characterised in that the charcoal grid is set, in a continuously adjustable manner, at any desired height by toothed wheel and toothed rack with engaging detent pawl and guides. In previous models, the grilling grid, already heated, had to be hung in different side slots directly by hand when changes in spacing were necessary. Particularly when food being grilled is already supported thereon, there is the risk of accidents. With this new technical solution by means of variable charcoal grid, this problem is avoided. The food being grilled can be well cooked and browned without blackening. The rapid escape of fat can be largely avoided by the easy distance regulation. The fat burning, which is undesirable on account of the irritating smell and produces benzpyrene residues damaging to health, is correspondingly reduced. This represents an advance also in the context of the health regulations in relation to food legislation, in the case of commercial marketing.
