An electric motor comprises a stator with at least two salient poles (3, 4) on each of which a respective winding is mounted and between which a pole gap is present. Inserted into the pole gap is a ribbed cover member (1), which rests against the pole tips, and whose face 2 closes the pole gap off towards the rotor space and which at at least one end face is formed with channels which carry one or more plug connector terminals (7) by which the winding ends are electrically connectible, and optionally thermal sensor element 13. Projections 12 may be used for tension relief.
