HEAT-RESISTANT, IMPACT-RESISTANT RESIN COMPOSITION HAVING IMPROVED THERMAL STABILITY

PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. which has excellent mechanical strengths and is hardly discolored by heat under high-temperature conditions, by blending a compsn. constituting of a specified copolymer and a graft polymer with ZnS and/or ZnO. CONSTITUTION:3-70% (by weight; the same applies hereinbelow) maleimide monomor (i) is reacted with 97-30% at least one monomer (ii) selected from the group consisting of arom. vinyl monomers, unsaturated nitrile monomers and unsaturated carboxylic acids (ester monomers) and 0-30% copolymerizable monomer (iii) to obtain a copolymer (a). Separately, the component (ii) is reacted with a rubbery polymer (iv) having a weight-average particle size of 0.05-3mum to obtain a graft polymer (b) having a rubber content of 5-80% and a graft ratio of 10-100%. 10-95% component (a) is blended with 90-5% component (b) to obtain a compsn. (A). 100pts.wt. component A is blended with 0.02-5pts. wt. powdered ZnS and/or ZnO (B) having an average particle size of not larger than 0.5mum and such a particle size distribution that at least 90% of the powder is composed of particles passing through a 350-mesh sieve.
