DEVICE FOR IRRADIATING ULTRAVIOLET RAY

PURPOSE:To reflect only ultraviolet rays having an available wavelength region and to efficiently cure resins by providing the following reflector for ultraviolet rays to a device for irradiating ultraviolet rays which reflects light in the range of 300-450nm wavelength and absorbs or transmits light having the wavelength other than the above-mentioned range. CONSTITUTION:An interference film is formed by vapor-depositing a nonmetallic multilayered thin film on the surface of a reflector 3 made of glass but it is formed so that only rays of light having 300-450nm wavelength among ultraviolet rays emitted from an ultraviolet lamp 2 are reflected and rays of light having the other wavelength region are transmitted by controlling a substance to be vapor-deposited, the film thickness of vapor deposition, and a number of a layer of the film. Heat can be discharged to the outside by cooling a housing 4 with air-cooling and the heating of an optical fiber 1 coated with UV region can be prevented. As a result, even when irradiating rays of light large power on UV resin surrounding the fiber 1, the rays of light having the wavelength other than 300-450nm wavelength are reduced and the curing of UV resin can be favorably performed.
