PURPOSE:To retrieve a medium difficult to retrieve by using a medium easy to retrieve and to quicken the retrieval by utilizing synchronizing information added and stored so that data of plural media are outputted in parallel synchronously. CONSTITUTION:When a display indication device 41 indicates a document page including a voice desired to be retrieved, a retrieval circuit 42 retrieves the document data of the page from a file 43, a command of a control circuit 44 is outputted to a display device 45, next a display command device 46 retrieves a drawing picture of a file 48 via a retrieval circuit 47 and the drawn picture is displayed on the device 45 by a command from a control circuit 49. When a command device 50 indicates a drawing picture segment having a significant correspondence to the voice segment desired to be retrieved, a retrieval circuit 52 retrieves the voice segment data of the file 53 based on the synchronizing information of the indicated drawn picture retrieved by a search circuit 51 and the synchronizing information added to the voice segment and the voice is outputted to an output device 55 by a command of a control circuit 54.
