Roller test stand (bench) for power measurement and functional checking of motor vehicles

A roller test stand (10) for power measurement and brake force (power) measurement of motor vehicles is proposed in which the endangered working area of an operator is protected in an associated workshop pit (11) by a safety device. Mounted on the frames (12, 13) of the roller test stand (10) are passive infrared sensors (21 to 24) whose beam fields (25 to 28) penetrate the workshop pit (11). The passive sensors (21 to 24) are combined with active sensors which form light barriers (35 to 36) in the workshop pit (11). The passive infrared sensors (21 to 24) operate as motion detectors which detect the intrusion of persons into the protected area and are for their part protected by the light barriers (34 to 36) against being put out of operation.
