PURPOSE:To enable the number of sheets to be printed to be easily set from a printer that is the terminal by providing a switch for setting the number of sheets to be printed and a memory of the number of sheets to be printed on the printer. CONSTITUTION:Image data are written into a page memory7 by a host computer 1. Next if an up switch 6a is operated, a microprocessor 3 increments the set number of sheets to be printed stored in a memory of the number of sheets to be printed 3c by counting up a counter 3b. If a down switch 6b is operated, the microprocessor decrements the set number of sheets to be printed in the memory 3c by counting down the counter 3b. Then the number of sheets to be printed is displayed on an indicator of the number of sheets to be printed 5. The titled printer can set a prearranged number of sheets to be printed and as such can be conveniently used specially when a host computer is installed in a remote area.
