The invention relates to a magnetic lock. It comprises a plunger 3 which can slide through a fixed casing 2 and carries a helical spring 4 compressed between this plunger and the fixed casing so as to return the plunger in a direction making it exit the casing. The plunger has a cam groove 7 which may be travelled over by one end 8c of a locking spindle 8. The plunger further carries, at its front end, a permanent magnet 5 mounted in a tiltable fashion and returned by the spring to a horizontal orientation. Field of application: magnetic locking of a moveable element, for example a remote control for a television set, a video appliance, or air conditioning apparatus, or also for a door articulated with respect to a fixed element, etc. <IMAGE>
