<p>Pigments consisting of two or more 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic acid diimides of general formula (I): R= H, alkyl, aryl, arylcaboxyl or a heterocyclic group, must be prepd. by reacting 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracaboxylic acid or its anhydride with at least two different amines, so that the x-ray diffraction pattern of the pigment differs from the sum of the x-ray diffraction patterns of the two separate components. The pigments may be used in various kinds of paints and lacquers, esp. in autocar-lacquers. The pigments have improved light-fastness and transparency and provide a larger choice of colours.</p> |
