PURPOSE:To perform cleaning wherein mixing of color is prevented in case of color changeover operation by staggering timing of both the blow-in of main purging air and the suction of subpurging air and also staggering the phases of both pulsating flows. CONSTITUTION:The valves of the pinch valves 15, 16 of the conduits 17, 18 are firstly closed and scavenging cleaning air 70 is fed while keeping a gun 22 in an opened state. Main purging air 67 for cleaning is fed under pressure to the conduits 17, 18 via a branched path 101 through an inlet 100 by means of high-pressure pulsating air current. While staggering the pulsating phase, subpurging air 68 is fed under pressure to the conduits 17, 18 and an outgoing conduit 20 through a mixing chamber 24 via an introduction port 105 and a port 44. Thereafter both purging air 67, 68 are stopped and atomized air 69 is directly fed under pressure to a gun 22. In such a way, resticking due to the backflow of paint flown is completely inhibited and the mixing of color is surely prevented.
