PURPOSE:To improve an S/N ratio by dispersing powder which satisfies a specified multiple regression equation and has a standard deviation within 2.0 into a synthetic resin binder. CONSTITUTION:Ferromagnetic powder is classified by a classifier and the pow der which satisfies the multiple regression equation Y-S/N=-0.0006XEm +0.5707X(Lm/Wm)-0.0005X(Lm-SD)+4.6424->2 and has the standard devia tion within 2.0 is dispersed therein. After such powder is dispersed into a high- polymer binder, the mixture is coated as a recording layer on the surface of a substrate. The S/N ratio is thereby improved. |
