PURPOSE:To stabilize the action and simplify the circuit formation by setting the upper and lower limit values for output voltage control with both end voltages of derivative elements inserted in series to the load current circuit in a pressure-reducing type chopper. CONSTITUTION:In a pressure-reducing type chopper inserting a circuit switching element 10, a derivative action element 20 and an integral action element 30 between DC power source 1 and load 2, a control area setting circuit 40, which detects the voltages at both ends of the derivative action elements 20, is provided and by the output thereof the upper and lower limit values are set for controlling the switching element 10. Then a pulsation detecting circuit 40 is connected to the output side of the integral element 30, detecting the pulsation of output voltage, while an output reference value setting circuit 50 is provided which gives the output reference. The output voltages Vc and Vr of each circuit are inputted into an operational amplifier 61 of a switch control circuit 60 for comparison, by the output of which the switching element 10 is turned on and off for control.
