PURPOSE:To locate easily a break point by grounding a case via a diode in a branching device of a submarine branching system so as to continue feeding even if a broken fault takes place in a feeding cable. CONSTITUTION:A case 4c of the branching device 4 is grounded via the diode 4b. Thus, at normal operation in the power supply between a land station 3 and the branching device 4, power is supplied from a + power supply to repeaters 7n-71 and the branching device 4 is grounded via the diode 4b. A switch 4a is opened in this case. When the cable is broken at a point A, since the point A is grounded through sea water, the power is fed in the route of grounding point A - repeater 71 -switch 4a closed in branching device 4 - repeaters 5n-51 - negative power supply of land station 1. Thus, the repeater 71 is operated and the repeaters 72-7n are operated, then a system supervisory device locates that the broken point is the point A. |
